Fascia, trim and soffit: what’s the difference?

Fascia is the board along your roof edge. Your gutters attach to it. Trim covers corners and frames windows and doors, plus frieze and band boards. Soffit is the underside of the roof overhang.

Fascia and trim take the most water of any part of your exterior. When they rot, gutters pull loose and water gets behind your siding. We find the cause before we replace the boards.

Signs it’s time to replace fascia or trim

Peeling paint that keeps coming back

Repeated peeling usually means moisture is getting into the wood.

Soft or rotted wood

Push on corners and board ends. Soft spots mean rot.

Gutters pulling away

Gutters that sag or pull loose often point to rotted fascia.

Gaps, birds or pests

Openings at the roof edge let in birds, bats and insects.

I couldn't have found a better company for this project. Braeden was incredibly helpful with scheduling and worked closely with me to find a price that fit my budget. As you can see in the attached before-and-after photos, they replaced and painted all of my damaged siding, addressing everything from peeling to significant water damage. I have a painting company and have been in the industry a long time and the work they did made my job how it should always be because of their prep work with their caulking and filling nail heads and the communication through the whole process.
