5" vs 6" Gutters
5″ K-style gutters are the standard on most homes. 6″ K-style gutters are wider and deeper, so they carry noticeably more water and pair with larger downspouts.
Bigger isn’t always better. The right size depends on how much roof drains to each run, how steep the roof is, whether valleys concentrate water, and how many downspouts we can add.

For large, steep or valley-heavy roofs, yes. They carry more water and use bigger downspouts that clog less. For many homes, 5″ gutters are plenty.
